Civil Defence requirements for fire alarms

A fire alarm is legally required for many licences in Egypt and is subject to Civil Defence approval. So the first question, before price, is whether the system and its design will pass inspection — because retrofitting a system to pass afterwards costs several times more than designing it correctly from day one.

What inspection looks for

• Complete coverage with no gaps, with the right detector for each space.
• Fire-rated cable that keeps working while the fire burns — the item most often substituted in a cheap quotation.
