The wireless trade-off nobody mentions

Wireless sensors run on batteries, and a sensor with a flat battery looks perfectly fine in a system that does not monitor sensor health. So with wireless, insist the panel warns on low battery for each device — otherwise you have gaps you cannot see. Signal reach through concrete walls is the other limit worth testing before committing.

A practical middle path
